Die englische Musikerin und DJane Penny Metal ist eine Galionsfigur der europäischen Eastblock-Party-Szene. Sie legt regelmäßig zu den „Pop-up-Polka Clubs“ in London ihre „Mad Tunes“ auf. Das sind zumeist Vinyl-Raritäten der 70er und 80er Jahre vom Balkan, aus Russland und der Ukraine. Penny Metal hat das Händchen, diesem archaisch klingenden Sound den punkigen Touch und die Polkabeats von heute zu verpassen. Sie verzaubert jedes Publikum, das neugierig und partyhungrig die Klubs von London, Hamburg, Wien oder Rom stürmt. In den vergangenen acht Jahren hat sie auf großen europäischen Festivals Polkaflair verbreitet und mit ihrer Slideshow aus Polka-Platten-Covern schräge visuelle Effekte gezaubert. Penny has been DJing in Europe for the past eight years at some of the biggest Balkan and Russian clubs, and runs the highly acclaimed Polka Tent at Bestival in the UK. She also hosts regular pop-up Polka Clubs in London.

W ubiegłych ośmiu latach rozprzestrzeniała atmosferę polki na wielkich europejskich festiwalach, a za pomocą swojego slid showu z coverów płyt z polkami czarowała niezwykłe efekty wizualne.
